MJM: Media Strategist

We’re looking to add a strategic and detail-oriented Media Strategist to our growing team. This role requires hands-on experience across both traditional and digital media platforms, combining analytical skills with a passion for smart, meaningful media investments. You’ll develop and execute strategic media plans that amplify our clients’ messages and drive results. This role includes working closely with vendor partners, media outlets, and clients to strategize, execute, optimize, and report on media campaigns across traditional and digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

Media Strategy & Buying – Traditional and Digital

  • Develop comprehensive media plans that align with client goals, budgets, and target audiences

  • Execute and optimize buys across traditional (TV, radio, print, out-of-home) and digital channels (display, video, CTV, social, SEM)

  • Conduct audience research and translate insights into effective media strategies

  • Negotiate and secure media placements, ensuring cost-efficiency and maximum ROI

  • Traffic all traditional and digital media assets with vendor partners and in platforms

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media vendors, publishers, and reps across all

    channels

  •  Monitor campaign delivery and performance; recommend optimizations based on data and KPIs

  • Create clear, data-driven reports that communicate impact to clients and internal teams

  • Stay updated on industry and media trends, market conditions, platform updates, emerging tools and tactics, and audience behavior to identify new strategies.

Collaborative Planning

  • Partner with account, creative, digital and writing teams to ensure strategic alignment

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations as a media subject matter expert

  • Educate internal stakeholders on evolving media capabilities and performance

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in media buying or planning (agency or client side)

  • Strong knowledge of both traditional and digital advertising channels

  • Proficiency in media planning, buying and reporting tools and platforms (ie: STRATA,

    Media Ocean, Google Ads, Meta, ad servers, programmatic DSPs)

  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor relationship management skills

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to extract actionable insights from campaign data

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly organized with strong time and project management skills

  • Solution-oriented mentality

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries

  • Understanding of HIPAA-compliant ad platforms and healthcare-specific audience

    targeting

  • Working knowledge or expertise in SEM (Search Engine Marketing), including keyword

    strategy, campaign optimization, and performance analysis

  • Working knowledge of floodlight and conversion pixel management
