Sammons Financial: Graphic Designer
What You Can Expect In This Role
Responsible for designing layouts and templates for print and digital materials in support of marketing campaigns and website development, as related to business to business, financial services focus. Ensure all files are accurate, proofed, and turned around on time. Collaborate with design team, content specialists, sales group, management, and others to deliver creative output as required in support of marketing communications.
What You'll Do In This Role
• Develop original, concept-driven creative designs across print, web, email, social, and event materials under general direction; translate business objectives into distinctive visual solutions and design systems.
• Exercise independent and creative judgment on themes, style, tone, layout, typography, color, imagery, and hierarchy within the brand strategy. Translate business goals into creative concepts and develop customer-focused materials, at times with limited direction or detail provided from client.
• Create or direct the creation of assets (illustration, iconography, photo direction, motion/animation) to realize concepts and differentiate the brand in a manner that captures the target audience and drives customers to our products.
• Own design end-to-end with collaboration from senior members of the team: discovery, concepting, iterations, production-ready files, and delivery-ensuring quality, accessibility, and cohesion across channels and devices.
• Design for email using responsive best practices; collaborate on HTML/CSS to realize design intent in email automation platform; apply accessibility, deliverability, and performance standards.
• Use research and feedback to recommend creative solutions that position the organization for success; propose lightweight revisions with support from senior members of the team when appropriate.
• Grow design systems and pattern libraries based on the new creative products successfully delivered to the client; document components and ensure consistent application of brand guidelines.
• Manage business forms and marketing materials maintenance, including:
• Building and maintaining branded business forms (e.g., applications, enrollment/change requests, claims/service forms, disclosures, rate sheets) as print PDFs, translating complex requirements into clear, usable, accessible layouts that reflect the brand.
• Maintaining marketing materials (e.g., brochures, product sheets, sales kits, rate cards, email templates) through content updates, imagery swaps, rate/legal/compliance changes, and periodic refreshes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Implementing form logic (field mapping, validation, conditional flows), preparing assets for print and digital channels, and ensuring WCAG/ADA accessibility where applicable.
• Performing proofing, pre-press checks; maintaining meticulous version control, naming conventions, and documentation in workflow systems in partnership with Operations, Product, and Legal/Compliance.

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree from a University or Design College or Technical College with an emphasis in graphic design Required
Minimum 3 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
2-5 years' HTML and CSS development experience specific to email coding Preferred
Minimum 2 years' experience with enterprise-level email service providers; experience with Eloqua or Marketing Cloud Preferred
Proven knowledge and skilled design talent in the graphic arts, along with an online portfolio illustrating competencies
Solid understanding of email best practices and testing
A strong sense of design, typography, color theory, vector graphics, mood boards, etc. is required
Ability to optimize email code to render properly across devices and providers.
Proficient in Mac computer systems using Adobe Creative Suite—Photoshop, Illustrator , InDesign, Adobe XD, Acrobat Pro, Dreamweaver; CSS; HTML; responsive web design; User Experience design; interactive landing pages; and typography.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with marketing automation platforms
Knowledge or familiarity of the Insurance Industry or financial services preferred
Willingness to learn new things, and keep up on latest digital and design trends
Creativity, ingenuity, and imagination as it pertains to business strategy
Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Salary Range Information
USD $44,498.00 - USD $74,162.00 /Yr.
