Account Executive

Handling all aspects of client relations while leading projects from start to completion is at the heart of this role. Communication, organization and project management are key traits in a successful AE role. We’re looking for a detail-oriented taskmaster to join our team and help facilitate marketing campaign development and project organization for your clients. In this position you’ll lead client projects with a multi-disciplinary team made up of media strategist, art directors, researchers and digital marketing specialists to take ideas to the next level.

Duties include, but not limited to:

Develop strategic marketing plans for clients. After plans are developed and presented to clients, the Account Executive is responsible for carrying the plan out on a daily basis. Manage and maintain regular communication with agency clients. Present creative work with confidence and enthusiasm. Interfaces with the various positions of the agency to move projects and campaigns through the agency on behalf of the client. This includes meeting with:

  • The creative director(s) concerning creative matters and input,

  • The media director/buyer concerning media plans and schedules,

  • The design team concerning projects and online media,

  • The project manager concerning estimates, scheduling, and timing

  • Work closely with project manager to manage and maintain client accounts and projects. 

  • Build productive trust relationships with clients/accounts.

  • Push projects from start to completion by being the driving force between the team and client. 

  • Define the scope of client projects in collaboration with team.

  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete projects.

    Alongside project manager/account coordinator –

  • Develop a schedule and/or editorial calendar for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.

  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.

  • Manage client budgets, agency hours and advertising spends.

  • Creating presentations

  • Development and maintenance of websites, blogs, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, and other digitally produced materials.

  • Writing and posting for social content, commercial scripts, and other marketing mediums.

  • Maintain client social platforms, creating unique on-brand social content, and managing fan/follower growth.

  • Brainstorm and pitch creative marketing strategies to team and clients.

  • Curating blog posts from start to finish and managing visual assets.

  • Coordinate with strategists and media experts to improve marketing results.

  • Evaluate important metrics that affect website traffic, digital media traffic and target audience.

  • Monitor and strive for KPIs.

  • Seek out and recruit new clients.

  • Assisting and contributing to photo shoots for campaigns, look books, microcontent, social media content, tv commercials, etc.

  • Represent The Sampson House at various community events including workshops, networking opportunities, speaking events, and client celebrations.

  • Engage in training resources, including internal and external opportunities.

  • Assure client satisfaction concerning sales of advertising services by following up with clients during and after services are rendered.

Qualities and Requirements

  • Degree in mass communication, marketing, advertising or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years marketing and/or agency experience. 

  • Must be able to communicate effectively & efficiently in a team setting.

  • Must be incredibly organized and able to multi-task.

  • Must be able to set schedules for team members and keep projects moving from start to completion.

  • Must be able to self sufficiently, independently and confidently lead client accounts.

  • A self-starter with strong work ethic & problem solving skills.

  • A strong ability to make and meet deadlines. 

  • Extensive knowledge of social media business pages, digital marketing and blogging.

  • A demonstrated eye for quality content.

  • A strong ability to multi-task projects.

  • Extremely detail-oriented.

  • Fantastic and witty writing skills.

  • Strong grammatical skills.

  • Ability to analyze data & improve advertising performance.
