L&S: Media Strategist
Researching, planning, buying and building smart strategies – that’s at the heart of the Media Strategist position at Lawrence & Schiller.
We’re looking for an experienced media planner, buyer or strategist to join our team as a Media Strategist, developing campaigns for clients in travel, higher education, healthcare and more.
Our Media Strategists work hand-in-hand with our Media Coordinators and Media Specialists to evaluate emerging media opportunities, identify new placements, and develop strategic media plans for clients across the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to work as a team to identify how to translate creative ideas into a message delivery plan that includes digital, traditional, social and disruptive media channels.
With media reaching across devices, screens and settings, you’ll collaborate with digital and creative team members to strategize big picture placement with targeted channels that not only reach our audience, but get results. You’ll help analyze key performance trends, providing strategic insights and optimization recommendations to improve performance. You’ll work to translate media performance and communicate results back to client.
Our team-centered approach ensures we have integrated campaigns that blend digital, social, user generated content and traditional media into one cohesive plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Oversee clients’ media strategy and its role in their larger marketing objectives, leading big-picture thinking and identifying new opportunities.
Research media partners and emerging channels to find new media placement opportunities.
Build and foster relationships with media vendors to collaborate and negotiate media buys.
Collaborate and brainstorm with the discipline and agency team to propose new media placement ideas and innovative execution opportunities for campaigns.
Develop robust media strategies that align with campaign objectives and overall business outcomes.
Create internal and client-facing presentations, communicating the media strategy in a clear, effective manner.
Develop detailed media buys, including channels, targeting, ad units, and budgets that fall in line with our overall campaign strategy.
Manage media strategy and placement for multiple clients throughout the media buying process, including planning, implementation, measurement, and reporting.
Analyze performance metrics, identifying strategic insights and opportunities for optimizations.
Present campaign reporting and insights to client, translating media performance to tangible outcomes and insights to educate them on results.
Guide recommendations for custom reporting options.
Work with the finance team to process client bills and reconcile media vendor invoices.
Manage the day-to-day operations of your team, working closely with, and leading, media coordinators and specialists.
Strategize with leadership on agency and discipline growth, developing and implementing best practices and new media innovation.
Additional duties as assigned.
Media Strategists are organized, detail oriented and can translate tactical placements into big picture strategic thinking. Opportunity-minded, resourcefulness and a solutions-first attitude are a must. Leadership and collaboration with team members is key to managing a team. Communication is at the core of what we do, so applicants must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with internal team members, clients and media partners in a clear and professional manner.
Prior experience in media planning and buying or media strategy is required. A four-year degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, or business, or complementary experience in media placement and strategy, is required. Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required.
Prior experience with media planning and buying tools are a plus.
