Montgomery’s: Merchandising Assistant

Job Summary

Assist the merchandising department; including the Merchandising Manager and the Director of Merchandising in a home furnishing retail environment. Organization and communication are critical requirements. Daily activities generally include entering sales, assisting in design presentations, inventory/tagging, coordinating annual trade shows and parade homes. Timeliness and accuracy is a must, along with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with other company departments. This position requires an individual who thrives in a busy, fast paced environment and can work well around distractions.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in office administration role

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

  • Ability to engage customers and internal sales team

  • Ability to communicate well with others and possess good problem-solving ability

  • Attention to detail required

  • Proven skill with MS Office

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Use and understand sales order entry and purchase orders.Enter sales.

  • Support department projects.

  • Keep all vendor information current.

  • Assist with tagging and pricing stock merchandise for floor display under the direction of the Merchandising Manager.

  • Update and assist in keeping supplier materials and fabrics organized.

  • Organize market information and research product information as needed.

  • Assist with overflow in the welcome center when needed, including greeting customers and / or answering phones.

  • Write up service orders for damaged merchandise, following up on status of replacement items and problem resolution.
