Montgomery’s: Merchandising Assistant
Job Summary
Assist the merchandising department; including the Merchandising Manager and the Director of Merchandising in a home furnishing retail environment. Organization and communication are critical requirements. Daily activities generally include entering sales, assisting in design presentations, inventory/tagging, coordinating annual trade shows and parade homes. Timeliness and accuracy is a must, along with the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with other company departments. This position requires an individual who thrives in a busy, fast paced environment and can work well around distractions.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in office administration role
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Ability to engage customers and internal sales team
Ability to communicate well with others and possess good problem-solving ability
Attention to detail required
Proven skill with MS Office
Duties and Essential Job Functions
Use and understand sales order entry and purchase orders.Enter sales.
Support department projects.
Keep all vendor information current.
Assist with tagging and pricing stock merchandise for floor display under the direction of the Merchandising Manager.
Update and assist in keeping supplier materials and fabrics organized.
Organize market information and research product information as needed.
Assist with overflow in the welcome center when needed, including greeting customers and / or answering phones.
Write up service orders for damaged merchandise, following up on status of replacement items and problem resolution.
