Missouri River Energy Services: Communications Summer Intern
Missouri River Energy Services is looking for an enthusiastic full-time intern for summer 2023 who wants first-hand experience in writing, advertising, marketing, social media, videography and production, graphic design and/or photography.
Depending on your skill set and your level of interest, you could be working on a variety of projects such as:
Writing persuasive copy for all media, including video, social, print, radio and more that helps promote public power utilities (industry knowledge not required)
Participating in a variety of communications and marketing functions that support the organization’s communications goals and initiatives
Taking “on the job” photos and videos of employees in Sioux Falls and traveling to our member communities to do the same
Using your graphic design skills to assist with marketing materials
Assisting with website content
Supporting MRES social media efforts
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and successfully interact with others
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, without close supervision.
Familiar with current social media
Possess a current valid driver’s license
Preference of experience with video editing software, and Photoshop and/or Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and InDesign
Students pursuing a degree in Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, Public Relations or similar field of study are encouraged to apply. This full-time paid position begins mid-May and goes through mid-August (but super flexible).
